Overview

The QA QC Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the company’s Quality Assurance / Quality Control program, including the coordination, performance and execution of supplier inspection and construction inspection services for the projects. QA QC engineer is responsible for assuring that the quality of the work and product meets or exceeds the projects contractual requirements.

 

Responsibilities

The QAQC Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Write operational QAQC procedures and conduct related training
  • Lead and assist in the development and implementation of the General Legal and Minimum Quality Requirements for Global Project processes and procedures which guarantee high quality, meet customer needs and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Meet operational standards by contributing Quality assurance and Quality Control information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems
  • Perform and supervise the QA/QC system requirements acc. to the Quality Management System.
  • Assist in the development of supplier inspection and construction QAQC execution plans including cost budget, schedule, risk analysis and quality assurance.
  • Leads teams of equipment engineers in the development of Project Specific requirements for Corrosion Protection, Insulation, Passive Fire Protection, and Concrete Protection using P&ID’s, equipment operating temperature’s, and process and safety engineering requirements.
  • Assure relevant design and fabrication codes i.e. ASME, API, NFPA, EN, GOST, GB, ISO Standards etc are being complied with.
  • Perform Supplier Qualification & Construction site audits towards contractors in liaison with Quality Management Head Office Lead Auditor. Coordinate and participate in client's and authority audits.
  • Review Vendor & personnel qualifications (e.g. Non-Destructive Testing, Welders, Destructive Testing, Painting, Insulation, and Refractory) prior and during vendor inspection and construction activities.
  • Consistently supports compliance and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting noncompliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and LENA policies and procedures
  • Provide proposal information relevant to QAQC cost projections. This includes monitoring commitments, schedule milestones, physical work performed, earned value, costs incurred, actual cost of work performed and calculation of Estimate to Complete
  • Review and approve Vendor and QAQC documentation submittals (e.g. ITP, NDE procedures, Weld Procedures, and Quality Control Documentation)
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced Technical Training NACE CIP and Corrosion credentials and AWS CWI, Material Technology
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years’ experience with QA/QC engineering management preferable
  • Experience in the development of and/or compliance to QAQC engineering specifications.
  • Highly Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, and Other Company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Familiar with ASME Codes, AWS, ASNT, API, NACE, and State and Federal Codes
  • Possess a broad understanding of each engineering discipline.
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with all individuals inside and outside of the company.
  • Understanding of equipment, piping, P&ID’s, instrumentation, electrical, civil / structural, and documentation and data related to gas processing and the refining industry.
  • Project control tools such as cost, schedule, document and contract administration applications.
  • Confident appearance and the ability to convince and lead people.
  • Familiarity with developing and writing QA/QC specifications.
