Overview

Mechanical Engineer are the contact for Team Leaders with regard to any mechanical engineering aspects for the project execution.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of the work performed.
  • Assist in the development and/or revision of department procedures and work instructions, as well as standard specifications.
  • Coordinate engineering activities and assure that effective interdisciplinary interfacing occurs between his responsibilities and the design team.
  • Ensure that project technical requirements are properly incorporated into his work.
  • Review, check and/or approve design drawings, mechanical data sheets, requests for quotations, purchase specifications, and purchase requisitions if and when required.
  • Adherence to internal and external schedules.
  • Participating as required in Design Reviews.
  • Assisting with fabrication and / or construction activities, as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering with a BSME preferred.
  • Professional Engineering registration in Georgia is desirable.
  • Five or more years of engineering experience in similar work is desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of ASME B&PVC Sections I, II, and VII and the EU PED.
  • Proficiency in parametric design utilizing Mechanical 3D CAD Tools such as Inventor, Solidworks, etc., and associated data file management systems such as Autodesk Vault.
  • Other software skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Proficiency in use of PVElite or other similar industry pressure vessel code calculation software.
  • Experience with mechanical stress analysis, design of weldments, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and FEA tools.
  • Communication skills: both verbal and written with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3, preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of Caesar or similar industry pipe stress software, preferred.
