Overview

Designers are the contact for Team Leaders with regard to any layout or design aspects for the project execution.

Responsibilities

The Civil/Structural Designer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure design compliance with respective client specifications and industry codes
  • Technical coordination with all disciplines related to the engineering and design effort
  • Model structural steel and civil in a 3D environment
  • Participation as required in project meetings and design reviews
  • Assist with fabrication and/or construction activities, as required
  • Structural design drawings: engineering or fabrication level for process and piperack modules, piperacks, platforms with ladder/grating/handrail, stairs, miscellaneous supports etc.
  • Civil design drawings: foundation, site preparation and grading plans, and underground storm systems, etc.
  • Perform detailed checking of structural and civil drawings
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.
  • Prepare project specifications for civil & structural
  • Work share projects with LEHQ, LEDD and or LEI
  • Support concept proposal development, man hour estimate & MTO as required

Qualifications

  • Two year technical certification or equivalent experience
  • Four years of experience
  • Intermediate level CAD software skills including AutoCad, Microstation, Tekla, Frameworks, PDS, Smartplant 3D, and Geopak
  • Complete familiarity with respective industry codes and standards
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes and other company and discipline specific software applications
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
