The Project Control Lead is assigned by the Manager of Project Control and is responsible for assisting with planning and leading the Control Group work effort, integrating and training new employees, and checking that all Project Control group deliverables are complete and accurate. 


  • Continuously monitor adherence to cost and/or scheduling standards and procedures, and review Project Control deliverables to ensure compliance, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and assigning resources to satisfy project requirements and ensure efficient workflow within the group.
  • Assist in establishing processes, procedures, and improvements for Project Control and company Capacity Planning methods.
  • Coordinate and Facilitate monthly project cost review meeting with Management.
  • Update and evaluate the accuracy of project cost forecasts by assessing actual costs incurred and physical progress achieved for all phases of a project.
  • Set up and maintain cost systems on assigned projects and assist on all major projects.
  • Prepare cash flows on assigned projects, and review all other projects.
  • Review/Oversee shop and field monthly cost reporting.
  • Support the Project Manager in Change Management.
  • Support the Project Manager in Contingency analysis.
  • Assist in project presentations to clients and company management.
  • Assist in developing project workarounds for project schedule and/or cost problems.
  • Assist in the selection and training of new Project Control personnel.
  • Provide performance feedback to the Manager of Project Control.


  • BS in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management/Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to ten years experience, at least three years of which shall have been accrued working as in an EPC company preferably in the Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical, or Chemical industries.
  •  Demonstrated a proven expertise in Project Scheduling, Project Cost Control, or both.
  • Experienced and advanced user of software systems required for the position including Primavera and/or the corporate ERP system (SAP).
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous flow of work through an EPC company from front-end basic engineering activities, through detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of EVM earned value progress systems.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
