  • Overview

    Responsible for overall successful operation of the Procurement functions, in accordance with corporate strategies and business objectives. Position is based in Holly Springs, GA.



    The Manager of Procurement shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Comply with corporate safety standards
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.
    • Assign Project Procurement Managers, Buyers, Expeditors, and Logistics personnel to projects.
    • Review the department resources, assignments and update the company capacity planning tools on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure all mandatory Linde Engineering Minimum Requirements are followed and be the subject matter expert on Procurement Minimum Requirements and Policies.
    • Ensure bid tabulations are compliant with all technical and commercial requirements to identify and purchase goods and services at the best evaluated cost.
    • Review and approve all purchase orders per the Company’s signature and Authority Matrix.
    • Support the Project Buyers during review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
    • Support the Project Buyers in resolving technical and commercial conflicts with suppliers
    • Coordinate department activities and resources to achieve delivery of all purchased items as per the required Quality, Project Schedule, and at the best evaluated cost.
    • Support proposals with budget and/or firm quotes and lead times as required.
    • Assess and manage the commercial risks associated with all suppliers to protect the company interests.
    • Ensure compliance with all global procurement, procedures, documentation and reporting.
    • Develop new supply sources, supplier alliances, and frame agreements.
    • Maintain executive relationships with suppliers of goods and services.
    • Develop project procurement strategies in collaboration with project execution.
    • Establish Procurement policies, ensure compliance, create or modify and maintain appropriate work instructions for ISO Quality requirements.
    • Recommend new processes and work flows where needed to improve quality, order processing time or on-time delivery.
    • Hire, train, develop, and appraise design staff effectively. Take correct action as necessary on a timely basis an in accordance with company policies.
    • Work within, and utilize, the Global Procurement organization to leverage the purchasing power of the Linde Group
    • Secure goods and services on a global basis using multicultural skills and communication techniques.


    • BS/BA in Engineering or Construction or Business Administration.
    • Ten (10) years of experience in procurement, with five (5) years in a leadership role.
    • Proven background in negotiating contracts, cost controls and dispute resolution.
    • Experience understanding of project schedules and reporting.
    • International purchasing and negotiation experience.
    • Experience with process equipment including but not limited to: fired equipment; pressure vessels; gas handling equipment; heat exchangers; piping, valves, and instrumentation; fabricated steel/ductwork; rotating equipment; and construction services is strongly preferred.
    • Experience with SAP business system is strongly preferred.
    • Expertise working for an international company as part of a Global Procurement organization is preferred.
    • Experience within an Original Equipment Manufacturer is preferred.
    • Experienced managing subcontracted fabricators is preferred.
    • Effective negotiation skills.
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
    • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
