  • Overview

    Responsible for assisting the Construction Site Manager in the management and direction of the construction site to which assigned, such that the contractual requirements and obligations are fulfilled in accordance with drawings and specifications, and all work is completed safely, within budget, and on schedule, with special emphasis being placed on safety goals and quality assurance.  The Construction Engineer reports functionally to the Construction Site Manager, administratively to the Construction Project Manager on all project issues, and liaisons with Linde Home Office Engineering on engineering issues.  Reports administratively to the Director of Construction for areas or items not related to specific projects.  Position is based in Holly Springs, GA.




    • Application of safety policies and procedures in all areas of responsibility.
    • Developing and maintaining Engineering documentation as required by contract.
    • Performing routine audits to ascertain that only the current issues of drawings or specifications are in use.
    • Maintaining marked up IFC drawings that accurately reflect all field modifications.
    • Management of Requests For Information, and resolution of construction, engineering, and vendor related problems, and notification to the Field Cost/Schedule Controller of RFI’s, BCN’s, and resolutions that result in Field Change Notices.
    • Supporting and assisting Site Management in job planning, scheduling, and status reporting.  Assumes the role of Field Cost/Schedule Controller on projects that do not warrant the assignment of a Field Cost/Schedule Controller.
    • Assist with coordination and management of subcontractors, and reporting problems, or potential problems, to the Construction Site Manager.
    • Replacement of the Construction Site Manager for short durations, when directed.
    • Develop and implement remediation plans for non-compliance issues.
    • Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery.
    • In the absence of a QA Manager, assumes the responsibility of Quality Assurance.  Schedules and coordinates QA/QC monitoring, documentation, and reports as required.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of construction means and methods which guarantee high quality, meet customer needs and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Assisting customers with erecting the fabricated components and equipment at the customer's site, conducting inspections at critical phases.
    • Oversees construction work and Supervise contractors responsible for in case of own project site. This may be done through the individual's direct involvement, or through people that the Construction Manager puts into place.
    • Coordinate and communicate in professional matter with others.
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.


    • Degree in Construction Engineering, other relevant Engineering degree, or in Construction Management.
    •  Possess a broad understanding of each industrial construction discipline
    • Must be capable of reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and resource-loaded schedules.
    • Effective leadership skills
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
