    The Lead – Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will be part of a multi-discipline project team and is responsible for Instrumentation & Controls with regard to all engineering and design aspects for the project execution. Lead – Instrumentation & Controls Engineer shall be responsible for all engineering phases from proposal, basic, detail, construction and commissioning.

    Responsibilities

    The Lead – Instrumentation & Controls Engineer shall be responsible for the following main activities but not limited to:

    • Responsible for the design and development of instrumentation systems for industrial facilities. This includes the specification of industrial instrumentation including the material to support installation.
    • Develop / review & approve instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets and specifications, in full compliance with recognized industry standards, safety standards, and various client specifications.
    • Assist in the technical development of assigned project P&IDs.
    • Assist in the development of project schedules and manpower requirements.
    • Review and checking of technical vendor submittals for installation requirements.
    • Prepare instrumentation calculations for control valves, flow orifices, and relief valves as required.
    • Provide support to procurement of instrumentation & controls relevant items.
    • Preparation of technical specitications, inquiry, technical bid evaluation and recommendations, Purchase specifications etc.
    • Ensure that all codes & standards, statutory requirements and client specifications are fully implemented.
    • Ensure that local best practice design is applied during all project phases for competitive and cost effective procurement and contruction.
    • Ensure that project technical requirements are properly incorporated in the equipment specifications during bot proposals & projects.
    • Maintain high level of professionalism in all aspects of the work permormed by the members of his technical group.
    • Support proposal activities and provide cost (equipment cost & man-hours) estimates.
    • Monitor and control, to the exedn possible, the equipment badge (equipment cost & man-hours)
    • Coordinate and/or participate in internal and external design reviews.
    • Provide technical support for inspection and test, construction, commissioning.
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 8 or more years’ relevant experience in process plant engineering and design in EPC company.
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.) Certificate of Registration is desirable
    • Selection of appropriate type of I & C equipment for a given application in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas industry
    • Effective conflict management skills, both technically and interpersonal.
    • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, exposure to project execution in global work share teams as well as international machine vendors
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills including background in problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma or Lean.
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
    • Understanding of workflow within an engineering company environment.
    • Deep knowledge of relevant API, ASME, NEC, NFPA and other industry standards
    • Working knowledge of ISA Standards and International Codes.
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes and other Company and discipline specific software applications such as SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation).
    • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (PDS, Smart 3D) & CAE tools
