  • Overview

    Provides coordination of Instrumentation and Electrical work on a field construction project. Liaisons with the Home Office engineering to resolve engineering and design issues. Inspects the work performed for compliance with all applicable codes, and specifications. Monitors work performed for quality and quantity.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and comment on I/E subcontract issues that may have a detrimental impact on construction.
    • Review and comment on the project specifications and requirements.
    • Assist with design of I/E when available.
    • Assist with constructability issues during the design stage, when available.
    • Involvement in bid evaluation of I&E bids for a field construction project.
    • Review field I&E work for compliance with all applicable codes, specifications, and requirements.
    • Review the quantity of the work performed by a I&E subcontractor
    • Review and resolve issues presented by an I&E subcontractor.
    • Maintain marked up drawings.
    • Liaison with the LPP H.O. I&E engineering group as required.
    • Assist with material receiving and issuing of I&E materials to an I&E subcontractor.
    • Involvement in system completion as required for loop check.
    • Review change orders from an I&E subcontractor, and presenting them to the Field Cost/Schedule Controller with a recommendation.
    • Administer the I&E subcontract.
    • Follow LPP safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA Instrumentation & Electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 7 or more years experience managing Instrumentation and Electrical work on a construction project.
    • Possess a broad understanding of each construction discipline.
    • Effective leadership skills.
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
