  • Overview

    Civil/Structural Engineers are the contact for project personnel and designers regarding Civil/Structural Engineering aspects for the project execution. 

    Responsibilities

    The Civil/Structural Engineers shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Department operations covering Engineering Phases including Proposal, Basic, Detail, Commissioning, and Construction. Ensure project compliance with respective client specifications and codes.
    • Provide definition of Civil/Structural scope of supply on any given project.
    • Development of Civil/Structural specifications (customize / company Standard).
    • Perform structural analysis calculations utilizing STAAD.Pro finite element analysis software and spreadsheets (Excel and PTC Mathcad).
    • Perform site drainage and cut and fill designs. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D®.
    • Technical co-ordination with disciplines related to engineering effort.
    • Interface with Material Control system to ensure commodity purchase.
    • Participation in Design Reviews.
    • Familiarity with 3D CAD software and interfaces with third party analysis software.
    • Develop/maintain standard specification sheets for engineered items.
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in communications, actions and decisions.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Engineering with emphasis on structural courses or licensure and equivalent experience, PE required.
    • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred or willingness to obtain within two years.
    • Five years experience.
    • Working knowledge of International Codes and Standards including AISC, ACI, IBC, and ASCE 7.
    • Complete familiarity with respective Industry Codes / Standards.
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
