  • Overview

    The  Process Controls & Automation Engineer will be part of a multi-discipline project team and is responsible for Process Controls & Automation with regard to all engineering and design aspects for the project execution. Process Controls & Automation Engineer shall be responsible for all engineering phases, i.e. from proposal, basic, detail, construction and commissioning.



     Process Controls & Automation Engineer shall be responsible for the following main activities but not limited to:

    • Responsible for the design and development of Process Controls & Automation for industrial facilities. This includes the specification of industrial Control System, including the material to support installation.
    • Develop / review & approve Process Controls & Automation architecture, Functional Design specifications (FDS), Control System (DCS / SIS / BMS PLC) configuration standards, in full compliance with recognized industry and safety standards, and various client specifications.
    • Development of Process Controls & Automation for assigned project PFDs / P&IDs.
    • Review and check technical vendor submittals for Process Controls & Automation requirements, like DCS / SIS / BMS PLC hardware design,  GADs, Power schematic etc.
    • Participation in various review meetings like, P & ID review.
    • Preparation of technical specifications, inquiry, technical bid evaluation and recommendations, Purchase specifications etc. for Process Controls & Automation relevant items.
    • Preparation and / or review of Cause & Effects, Control System / BMS control narratives, Functional block / Logic Diagrams, wiring & interconnection diagram etc.
    • Provide technical support during procurement of Process Controls & Automation relevant items.
    • Ensure that all codes & standards, statutory requirements and client specifications are fully implemented.
    • Ensure that local best practice design is applied during all project phases for competitive and cost-effective procurement and construction.
    • Ensure that project technical requirements are properly incorporated in to Process Controls & Automation relevant equipment specifications during both proposals & projects.
    • Maintain high level of professionalism in all aspects of the work performed by the members of his technical group.
    • Provide technical support and / or participate in Factory Inspection Tests (FAT), Site Installation test (SIT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Pre-commissioning, commissioning etc.
    • Preparation of Loop Check, Functional test and validation procedure for DCS / SIS / BMS PLC startup.
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions



    • BS in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 6 to 9 years’ relevant of relevant  experience in Process Controls & Automation of process plant engineering and design in EPC company.
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.) Certificate of Registration is desirable.
    • Selection of appropriate type of Process Controls & Automation equipment for a given application in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas industry.
    • Effective conflict management skills, both technically and interpersonal.
    • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, exposure to project execution in global work share teams as well as international Process Controls & Automation vendors.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
    • Basic knowledge & understanding of workflow within an EPC engineering company environment.
    • Deep knowledge of relevant API, ASME, NEC, NFPA, IEC and other industry standards.
    • Working knowledge of ISA / LOPA / Namur Standards and International Codes.
    • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes and other Company and discipline specific software applications such as SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation).
    • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (PDS, Smart 3D, SPR) & CAE tools shall be advantageous.
