  • Overview

    The Construction QA QC Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the company’s quality control program, including the coordination, performance and execution of supplier inspection and construction inspection services for the projects. Construction QA QC engineer is responsible for assuring that the quality of the work meets or exceeds the projects contractual requirements.


    The Construction QAQC Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Write operational QAQC procedures and conduct related training
    • Lead and assist in the development and implementation of the General Legal and Minimum Quality Requirements for North American Project processes and procedures which guarantee high quality, meet customer needs and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Meet operational standards by contributing Quality assurance and Quality Control information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems
    • Perform and supervise the QA/QC system requirements acc. to the Quality Management System.
    • Assist in the development of construction QAQC execution plans including cost budget, schedule, risk analysis and quality assurance.
    • Assist the Project Construction Manager to obtain, put in place and configure the appropriate tools and resources necessary for effective controls inclusive of document control, communication cost, and schedule
    • Assure relevant design and fabrication codes i.e. ASME, API, NFPA, EN, GOST, GB, ISO Standards etc are being complied with.
    • Monitor and supervise the implementation of the LE quality management tools on site (e.g. WSD, SAS, ICM).
    • Accomplish QAQC construction objectives monitoring site training, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
    • Perform Construction site audits towards contractors in liaison with Quality Management Head Office Lead Auditor. Coordinate and participate in client's and authority audits.
    • Review Vendor & Site Contractor's personnel qualifications (e.g. Non-Destructive Testing, Welders, Destructive Testing, Painting, Insulation, and Refractory) prior and during vendor inspection and construction activities.
    • Consistently supports compliance and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting noncompliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and LENA policies and procedures
    • Supervise contractors responsible for erecting the fabricated components and equipment at the customer’s site. This may be done through the individual’s direct involvement, or through people that the Construction Manager puts into place.
    • Provide proposal information relative to QAQC cost projections. Oversees the monthly updating of QAQC construction performance and forecasts. This includes monitoring commitments, schedule milestones, physical work performed, earned value, costs incurred, actual cost of work performed and calculation of Estimate to Complete
    • Review and approve Vendor and Construction contractor QAQC documentation submittals (e.g. ITP, NDE procedures, Weld Procedures, and Quality Control Documentation)
    • Oversees construction projects by conducting inspections or having phone discussions at critical phases; obtaining approvals from inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction.
    • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.



    • Advanced Technical Training and API 510 – API 570 credentials or/and AWS CWI 
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 5 years’ experience with construction and/or QAQC construction engineering management preferable
    • Experience in the development of and/or compliance to QAQC construction engineering
    • Highly Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
    • Familiar with ASME Codes, AWS, ASNT, API and State and Federal Codes
    • Project control tools such as cost, schedule, document and contract administration applications.
