    Responsibilities

    The Construction Site HSE Superintendent will guide the on-site construction activities.  This position reports to the Manager of Construction and works closely with the Project Manager in developing and executing the project construction scope, schedule, and ensuring all work is performed on time, within budget and meeting quality requirements. The individual is responsible for supervising contractors and erecting the fabricated components and equipment at the customer’s site.  This may be done through the individual’s direct involvement, or through people that the Manager of Construction puts into place.

    • Assist in the development of construction execution plans including cost budget, schedule, risk analysis and quality assurance
    • The individual will assist the Project Manager to obtain, put in place and configure the appropriate tools and resources necessary for effective controls inclusive of document control, communication, cost, schedule and contract administration
    • Deviations from the project schedule or cost must be communicated to the Project Manager immediately
    • Accomplishes construction objectives by  training, assigning and scheduling employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures
    • Oversees the monthly updating of construction performance and forecasts.  This includes monitoring commitments, self-performed work, schedule milestones, physical work performed, earned value, costs incurred, actual cost of work performed and calculation of Estimate to Complete
    • Manages job costs by evaluating field employee performance and productivity
    • Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems
    • Oversees construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtaining approvals from inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction
    • Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with and enforcing codes
    • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
    • Coordinate and communicate in professional manner with others
    • Assist in the development and implementation of construction means and methods which guarantee high quality, meet customer needs and comply with regulatory requirements
    • Consistently supports compliance and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and SFPC policies and procedures
    • Supervise contractors responsible for erecting the fabricated components and equipment at the customer’s site.  This may be done through the individual’s direct involvement, or through people that the Construction Manager puts into place
    • Write operational procedure and conduct related training

    Qualifications

    • Advanced Technical Training; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience construction and/or construction management preferable with heat transfer equipment
    • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes)
    • Estimating and Budgeting
    • Schedule development
    • Risk assessment
    • Cost engineering – coding, commitments, trending and forecasting
    • Project Finance - includes metrics, billing and working with financial management systems to generate financial reports
    • Project control tools such as cost, schedule, document and contract administration applications
    • Position requires a considerable amount of traveling and on-site living
    • Previous experience in the development of and/or compliance to construction safety standards
    • Strong presentation and communication skills
