    Responsible for the management and direction of the assigned Project’s Inspection Program established for purchased equipment, such that the contractual requirements and obligations are fulfilled in accordance with drawings and specifications, and all work is completed safely, within budget, and on schedule, with special emphasis being placed on safety goals, and quality assurance.

    Responsibilities

    The Inspector shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Conduct supplier qualification audits. Audits will be performed according to the requirements of LENA’s Quality Management System requirements and per the guidelines of the Linde Group’s Global Supplier Qualification instructions.
    • Conduct Pre-Inspection meetings with LENA’s equipment suppliers. Meetings shall be documented per LENA’s meeting notes guidelines, specifications, inspection test plans, associated data sheets, and engineered drawings.
    • Perform routine vendor inspections as outlined by the equipment ITP’s hold and witness points or as deemed necessary by the QA/QC Services Manager. These inspections shall be documents on LENA’s inspection report forms and punch lists. The Inspector will be responsible for the recommendation of final release of such equipment.
    • Review every inspection report on the project for accuracy and manage the inspection process by LENA’s 3rd party inspectors. Ensure that the quality of the physical inspection has been maintained regarding the Inspection Test Plan and in alignment with the Equipment Engineer (EQR).
    • Ensure all Punch List items defined from Supplier Visit Reports are resolved in a timely fashion and reviewed or re-inspected for compliance. Work with the Project Buyer to resolve any commercial issues associated with the Punch List items.
    • Resolve and or help, as necessary, coordinate resolutions to Quality related issues; consult with the Equipment Engineer to get timely responses required to execute the contractual delivery date of purchased equipment.
    • Issue Non-Conformance Reports and Corrective Actions, as deemed necessary, to assist with maintaining a quality function within the Linde Group.
    • Communicate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Logistics, Expeditors, Customers’ Representatives, and Construction Site personnel, and assist where required to help maintain Linde Engineering expected Quality while maintaining Cost and Schedules
    • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.

    Qualifications

    • Mechanical Engineering Degree and 2-3 years of EPC company experience or equivalent combination High School Diploma with 9+ years inspection experience.
    • Current ASW certified welding inspector (CWI) certificate or a recent, previously held certificate with the ability to renew such certification is required.
    • Certificate from ASNT or past employer as an ASNT RT level II-Film interpretation is required.
    • ASNT-TC-1A Level II MT/PT/UT/VT, preferred.
    • NACE Certified Coating Inspector level I, preferred.
    • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification preferred.
    • Possess a broad understanding of each engineering equipment discipline.
    • Broad understanding of job related codes and standards, ASME, AWS, NACE, API, Etc.
    • Effective leadership skills
    • Effective computer skills, Microsoft Office Software and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
    • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing wih supervisor, colleagues, and individulas inside and outside the Company.
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • The ability to read, comprehend, and utilize the following:
    • ASME, AWS, NACE, API, ASNT Codes and Standards- NEC and NFPA Standards are also preferred but not required
    • Customer & Company Specifications
    • Detailed Engineered Drawings
    • Code Calculations
    • Specific Equipment Mechanical Data Sheets
    • Weld Procedures and other related Quality procedures
    • Knowledge of Static, Rotating, Open Flare, Piping, and Structural equipment is required but not Packaged equipment drawings is a must.
