  • Overview

    Responsible for the overall successful management of the Finance & Accounting department in accordance with the company’s vision and strategy


    The Director of Finance & Accounting shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

                                  Accounting, Reporting, Policies & Procedures

    • Oversees all activities related to accounting, internal financial controls and external audit for the company, its subsidiaries and divisions, ensuring the effectiveness and adequacy of accounting and control systems
    • Ensures adequate books and records are maintained and accounting systems are in place for the company and its subsidiaries
    • Ensures the timely and accurate preparation, review and analysis of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for statutory and management reporting - for the company, its subsidiaries and divisions
    • Ensures the establishment and maintenance of local finance & accounting related policies and procedures
    • Ensures compliance with all relevant reporting standards (GAAP & IFRS), corporate/ global policies and procedures and local legal requirements
    • Responsible for the coordination of SOX compliance and audits throughout the organization
    • Responsible for the coordination of external financial audits as well as the financial parts of company’s internal audits
    • Masters complex accounting topics in the fields of revenue recognition and derivatives & hedge accounting

                                  Financial Planning & Controlling                                                               

    • Supports Executive Leadership and the selected Senior Management Team with decision useful financial information according to their needs
    • Responsible for the financial planning and forecasting process within the company
    • Creates and maintains relationships with key stakeholders within the company in order to identify and evaluate root causes of performance challenges as well as opportunities for improvement in the operating and financial results
    • Directs and drives the financial planning process in line with corporate/ global requirements in order to deliver on the company’s vision and strategy. In this context evaluates risk and opportunities, advises on the planning assumptions, and ensures alignment of
      resources to opportunities outlined in financial planning
    • Supports and advises relevant stakeholders within the company and on corporate/ global level, if necessary, on investment projects by developing sound business cases
    • Ensures that financial perspective is consistently applied in key business

    Treasury and Taxes

    • Ensures appropriate cash flow reporting and management and secures the company’s financing in alignment with corporate/ global functions
    • Coordinates and oversees external tax consultants and ensures compliance and optimal tax planning strategies

    People Management

    • Selects, evaluates, motivates and develops employees to ensure a qualified staff necessary to meet company’s business objectives, while complying with local employment guidelines
    • Provides fair and constructive feedback, assesses employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization, and ensures training and development needs are addressed
    • Develops and contributes to a positive team dynamic to ensure high performance
    • Contributes to the continuous improvement process within the team


    • Creates and maintains relationships with key stakeholders within the company as well as on corporate/ global level by understanding and responding to their needs and requirements and to create alignment and buy-in in order to support the company’s vision and strategy
    • Further develops the financial & accounting systems of the company (process, policies, procedures, tools and systems) in alignment with Executive Leadership and corporate/ global
    • Collaborates with other departments on cross-functional initiatives


    • CPA or CMA
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Mater's degree is a plus
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience managing corporate accounting functions, financial reporting or management position-in a medium to large size company
    • Effective computer skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications with focus on Excel-SAP skills is a plus
    • Strong accounting skills and good understanding of budgeting and planning techniques 
    • Ability to understand overall business operations, perform analytical reviews and think strategically
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team and on all levels within the company
