Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.


The Class A Pipe Welder shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Weld layout and fit-up carbon steel and/or alloy steel based on construction drawings.
  • Monitor and control welding consumables.
  • Workmanship must meet Company standards for quality including radiographic repair rate and visual inspection rate.
  • Productivity level must consistently equal the Company’s established productivity requirements, as defined by work instructions.
  • Sustain 5’s Lean Manufactory in assigned work cell.
  • Follow LENA safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
  • Participate in Value Stream improvements and Kaizen events.
  • Instruct and direct work of others, as required.
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.
  • This position is a safety sensitive position. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others, including but not limited to (forklifts, cranes, tractor trailers, operating machinery, etc.).


  • Successful completion of internal welding test.
  • Four-year applicable welding experience.
  • Perform welding assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must pass Pipe weld test.
  • Must be able to verify proper use of all WPS welding procedure.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc)
  • Use conventional and precision measuring instruments.
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment.
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Read Construction drawings and/or welding instructions.
  • Must demonstrate the desire to perform in a professional manner as a member of a team, as well as a team leader, to give inputs on activities that will help complete project assignments in a timely and efficient manner while upholding the quality and safety standards.
