Manages a team to accomplish overall successful operation of Project Controls and Scheduling for HyCO Engineering, in accordance with corporate strategies/guidelines and management objectives.


The Project Controls Manager shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assign Project Cost Controllers and Project Schedulers to handle cost control and schedule support (jointly “project control”) for any given project.
  • Provide project control support for projects and/or proposals.
  • Coordinate department activities to achieve timely delivery of project control support/deliverables.
  • Corporate capacity planning.
  • Refine and implement project control strategies, procedures, and tools.
  • Maintain Project Control policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and verifying appropriate work instructions are created and/or modified for ISO Quality requirements.
  • Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
  • Manage department budget and controls expenses effectively.
  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.  Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Establish regular meetings to provide information not related to projects.
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.


  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience managing the project control, scheduling, or project management function for an engineering and construction company.
  • Hands-on experience in project control in an EPC environment preferred.
  • Certified PMP-Project Management Professional and/or AACE-Certified Cost Engineer preferred.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications, e.g. Primavera P6.
  • Hands-on experience in project controls in an EPC environment required; including scheduling, earned value measurement, cost forecasting, and project risk management.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, including but not limited to: scope definition, scope control, cost control, risk management, planning and scheduling, procurement, contract administration, document control, project integration management and close-out
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Aptitude for leading a team.
